The special life teaching on the balance of grace and faith is being

broadcast exclusively for our radio listeners. And now here's Andrew. Okay, let's turn over to Hebrew chapter 4.

And real quickly, let me just give a brief summary of some of the things that I said out of

Ephesians chapter 2. I started sharing from verse 8 about by grace or you save through faith and that not of yourselves it is a

gift of God not of works lest any man should boast and I've been teaching about the

relationship between grace and faith you aren't saved by grace alone, you aren't saved by faith

along. And many people will emphasize one or the other, but seldom do you hear these things

combined. And I believe that this is why individuals

struggle so much. I believe that this is a major division in the body of Christ.

We've got people that

people just talk about it's just totally up to God it's what God chooses it's the grace of God we have nothing to do with it

God is sovereign and Thursday night I talked about an abuse of that teaching to where people just believe that God controls

everything that happens and that'll totally make you passive.

There is zero point in resisting the devil if you believe that God just

sovereignly controls everything. So I countered all of that and showed that that's wrong.

But then on yesterday morning I shared that talking about just faith and this attitude that we move God and that we are pressuring God and making God move by the things that we do.

And this concept that I do this, this, and this, and then

God responds to me, that that is totally wrong too. I don't believe that that's true

faith at all. That's just legalism. works. And that's wrong too. Either one of those

extremes will kill you. And so last night we talked about combining them, how that faith just reaches out and appropriates what God has already

provided for us by grace.
