Hi, I'm Violet Manors and welcome to Hidden Heritage, the podcast that brings you inside Great

destinations, with help from custodians, historians, artisans and experts. This week, I'm delighted

to be joined by Dr Tristram Hunt, historian, writer, former member of Parliament and the director of the

Victoria and Albert Museum. Since taking up his role in 2017, Tristram has championed design education in UK schools,

led debates around the history of museum's global collections, and overseen the transformation of the VNA into a multi-site institution.

Under his leadership, the VNA now includes six UK venues, from its iconic Kensington home to the VNA Wedgwood Collection, VNA Dundee and Young VNA, with the up and coming VNA East Storehouse and VNA East Museum set to open in 2025 this year and 2026.
