First Corinthians chapter 4, verses 3 and 4.

But with me, it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you or by any human court.

In fact, I do not even judge myself.

For I am not aware of anything against myself,

but I am not thereby acquitted. It is the Lord who judges me. Whoa, these verses are transformative for how we view others' opinions of us and even our opinion of ourselves.

In the verses right before this, Paul talks about how he's a servant of Jesus, he's a steward

of the gospel, and what is most important in his life is that he is faithful to Jesus as his servant, as a steward of the

gospel. And then he just goes on to start talking about how it's a very small thing that he would

be judged by others. And this is so important for all of us. What others think of you should be a very small thing in your eyes.

Don't live based on what others think about or say about you.

Don't live for what others will think about or will say about you.

This is not what you're living for.

And this is good news because what others think or say about

you may go up and down. And then Paul says, I don't even turn inward and then just say, well,

what do I think about me? Because he says, I could think great things about me, but that doesn't

make that true. The reality is, I'm not my judge and others are not my judge. Jesus is my judge, and I'm living for what he sees alone, for what he says alone. And when that's the case, it changes how you live. It changes how you live when you're not looking for others' approval or not even seeking

your own approval, but you are living with your eyes just fixed on Jesus, knowing that what

he sees and what he knows and what he says is all that matters.

And then filling your mind with what he says about you in his word and what he says about others

in his word and living accordingly with your eyes focused your life focused on just being faithful

to him christian you are free from living for what others think or say about you. And you are free
