John chapter 20, verses 20 through 22.

Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord.

Jesus said to them again,

Peace be with you.

As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.

And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, receive the Holy Spirit.

What a scene.

This is Jesus appearing to his disciples after he's risen from the dead. And talk about

understatement, the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord and he showed them his hands and his

side. And Jesus says, peace be with you. What a picture. It's actually the second time he says it in

this one paragraph that these are Jesus's first words to his disciples. Peace, peace to be with you.

But then what I want to lead us to pray according to is verse 22. When he had said this,

he breathed on them and said to them, receive the Holy Spirit. And I wish we had time to really unpack this in depth,

but this goes all the way back to Genesis chapter 2, verse 6, when God breathed a life
