In this week's podcast, we will discuss the Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency (AATD). AATD is a relatively rare genetic disorder that affects both the liver and the lungs.There are no symptoms in early childhood. However, as people get older, they may develop lung problems, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or emphysema.
Dr. Niket Sonpal will discuss the signs and symptoms, importance of early diagnosis and treatment for AATD.
