So I wanted to sort of ground the conversation just by if you could talk, you know,

briefly about why you chose Queens District 28.

And you address this in the podcast, but for folks who don't remember or may have missed it,

tell us how you got there. Well, I do think, actually, what we were talking about with the chancellor is a big part of it,

because we, this conversation about integration and diversity, which is kind of how we ended season one,

it is in many ways sort of imagined

as a conversation about black and white, and that's in many ways the way it played out in the

first season of the podcast, which is based in Bedstuy in central Brooklyn, where Mark and I

both live and work. And so when we heard about what was going on to District 28 in Queens,

we just thought it was a really great opportunity to go beyond that

because the chancellor is right.

The city doesn't look like just black and white by any means.

And it doesn't mean that these questions and these issues aren't relevant to everybody in the city.

It just means that we have to reimagine what they mean.
