This is Marianne.

And this week, Marianne will be speaking with Mickey Pardot, who is a biologist, an animal

behaviorist, and yes, also a vegan animal rights proponent.

Why does that seem to happen so seldom?

It's really too bad, but I'm just so happy it exists here today with Mickey and on our henhouse.

You would kind of think, which is the case with Nikki, I think, that the more people know about animals,

the more likely they would

be to not eat them. Right. Yeah. And to encourage other people not to eat them. But I mean,

I guess progress is being made with science. And there are more vegan vets than there used to be. But

it's still, well, everything boggles my mind. So I don't know. maybe I shouldn't pick this out as particularly mind-boggling.

I have to tell you, I was at a vegan restaurant in Rochester the other day,

and I was speaking with the owner, and she was telling me about how she was recently driving

to this animal shelter for this catering gig.

And that wasn't the point of her story. But when she was done with the story, I was like, so they, they vegan cater? That's so great.

And she goes, well, actually, they used to have it as a mandate that all of their events had to be

vegan, but the board has since overturned it. Oh my God, going backwards. I know. And I was just like,

it seems so weird because for shelters that have events, that have animal products, you know,

it's one thing to sort of be like passive about it and just not have a protocol in place.

But once you've actually gone to the effort of putting a protocol in place that it all has to be

vegan, it's it's like opting out of that.
