We start in the Portuguese capital Lisbon, where, as we record this podcast, at least 15 people have been killed and 18 others injured, when the city's famous Gloria Finicular cable railway derailed and crashed into a building.

Footage from the site showed the tram-like carriage practically destroyed, with emergency workers pulling people

out of the wreckage. This woman witnessed the accident.
