and Hamas said it was ready for a comprehensive agreement that would see all the captives freed.

But the office of the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected the proposal,

saying it was just spin. In recent days, Israel has stepped up its offensive in Gaza City,

despite UN warnings of a humanitarian catastrophe. At the same time, the United Arab Emirates

has criticised Israeli efforts to expand the occupation of the West Bank, after the far-right finance
