Lisa K. Stephenson born Jevasia Stephenson is a native of The Bronx, New York. As the daughter of a single parent and from a family immersed in African-American studies, she determined early on that education, independence and equal justice were important for all women and men of color. Her educational development began as a student at Monroe College of New Rochelle where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice with honors. Lisa is now an author, motivational speaker, entrepreneur and philanthropist.

| 1:07.0 | said journalists and I was so disappointed like I will my first thought as a kid is just like journalists don't make money like why would I want to be a journalist and you know fast forward all these years later on me I joined the army and while I was there you know I was I started |

| 1:31.1 | was home on convalescent leave and I finally finished the book and I'm going to be really honest with you that book went absolutely nowhere. |

| 1:56.0 | It was a lot and then I decided, you know, I wanted to take that experience and I wanted to write about it. And then I wrote my second book, which is Covenant, and I just did like three short stories, but I pretty much connected all of them through the characters. |
