Summary

This listener remembers being eleven and rollerblading in the kitchen (despite her mother’s warnings) only to feel an invisible push sending her crashing to the floor. Later, she discovered the apartment’s dark history: a 14-year-old had been fatally shot there. Flash forward to adulthood, and she’s found a new home of her own – free of any noticeable spirits – yet on her nightly dog walks, there’s an abandoned house down the street that has her skin crawling all over again, particularly when lights in the basement keep turning on… even though the place is supposed to be empty.

0:37.1	But I wanted to give you my story
0:38.7	really quick. I hope it's not too long for your recording. But it started when I was 11 years old.
0:46.6	My mom rented an apartment from a co-worker of hers. And apparently there was some history to the apartment.
0:56.7	He told my mom some history about the apartment.
1:02.8	She just never shared with us, which was my brother, my two older brothers and my stepdad.
1:10.9	So anyway, everything started when, um, it would be like nighttime and I would be at
1:18.2	home with my dad because my brothers were always out with their friends.
1:22.9	And, um, my mom, you know, she worked some nights.
1:27.9	And my stepdad and I would hear what would sound like my kids running up and down the stairs in the front hallway.
1:38.6	And, you know, my stepdad would get kind of pissed off because here he is trying to relax after a long day of work. He would open the door and look and there would be no one. So we would
1:52.3	just kind of give each other like this look like, you know, we both know we heard it. You know,
1:58.2	it's just like, okay, whatever, we'll keep on watching TV.
2:02.5	Then all of a sudden we'll hear it again.
2:06.7	And my stepdad will kind of just go to the door and kind of just listen.
2:12.8	And he, like, wouldn't hear it because I would clearly hear it as well.
