to where the oldest tree grows. Here, in the deepest part of the forest,

the branches form a tight canopy above her head, and very little light gets in. The air is thick and still.

The enormous ancient tree stands right

in the middle of the forest. It reaches up so high that Cleo can barely see the top of it.

Its branches spread out above her, dipping just as they touch the other trees. In its cool, dark undergrowth,
