And I'm going to take a moment, if I may, at the top of the show today,

to sort of do some bigger picture stuff. Because as I look at the landscape of obviously

coronavirus dominated news, and that is where we inevitably find our attention directed

every day at the moment.

It seems to me that today is the day that we have to acknowledge that things change.

Now that might sound a little trite or even obvious, but have a proper think about it, because it's not immediately obvious.

If you arrived at a conclusion in say April or May, there is no reason

why you need to be married to that conclusion today. I think that I read an interesting article.

I'll remember where shortly after coming off air just after it's too late to remind you or point

you in the right direction. But on the face masks, when the World Health Organization was on the record telling us that they

didn't make any difference, that they didn't help.

And then the science changed.

The knowledge base increased.

And they announced that we absolutely should wear them.

That confusion had been sown,

and I fear stroke feel increasingly that many of us,

and I've definitely been guilty of this myself,

many of us don't change when the facts change.

For example, I feel a fairly deep sense of sickness, I think, at the news of reinfections being a reality.

Now, the numbers are not terrifying.
