It clearly has caused the Justice's heartburn.

The Supreme Court has voted to strike down the Roe v. Wade decision.

That's according to an initial draft majority opinion written by just a Samuel Alito circulated

inside the court, and obtained by my colleagues Josh Gerstein and Alexander Ward.

Unless you've been living under a rock for the past week, you've probably heard about

it.

I think it has changed the court probably in a way that can't be altered.

I guess that's what it sounds like it's going to be.

I wrote a book recently, The Great Decentre, the story of John Marshall Harlan America's

Judicial Hero.

They say that history is written by the victors, but not in the case of the most famous

Decentre on the Supreme Court.

By it, read it, it has a lot to say about the events of the last week.

Harlan served, of course, over 100 years ago.

Instead of writing about history, we've been watching history being made right now.

The draft opinion is a full-throated, unflinching repudiation of the 1973 decision which guaranteed

federal constitutional protections of abortion rights and a subsequent 1992 decision, planned

parenthood V.K.C. that largely maintained the right.
