So I never take that for granted that a life sentence without parole is, you know,

you can get some progressive politicians in there and change all the sentencing laws.

That we've seen it happen in New York, you know, and I'm not going to get political,

but we've seen a governor in New York parole cop killers that all were sentenced to life without parole.

And the governor passed a law.

Let's parole them.

So I don't ever take for granted anything.

And that's why I didn't take for granted that offering this plea, I felt, yeah,

it was probably a good idea.

But get something for it, Phil.

Yeah, Billy, just think about it. If but get something for it, Phil. Yeah, Billy, just think about it if you get something for it.

Now, the minute that the defense approaches the prosecution and says, we want to make a deal,

we want to plead guilty to life without the possibility of parole to avoid the death penalty.

That's the time when the prosecutor comes up with a number of questions that are

unanswered, 10, 20, 50 questions, whatever it is.

You sit down and you have ways to figure out if you're being told the truth or if you're

being told a lie.

You have investigators. He had a team of investigators. They go out and they corroborate some of the evidence. The minute you catch him in a lie, you tear up the deal and he goes to trial. Now, we've discussed that. But Mike Vecchioan brought something up very important the other night on this show. And I think, Bill, you touched on it a little bit just now, too.

We don't know what's going to happen in the years to come.

Laws could change.

Rules could change.
