Our text today from Matthew chapter 14 and verse 13 and 14, notice, as soon as Jesus heard the news, he left in a boat to a remote area to be alone.

But the crowds heard where he was headed and followed on foot from many towns.

And Jesus saw the huge crowd as he stepped from the boat and he had compassion on them and healed their sick.

I want to talk today from the subject,

Life's Bipolar Moments.

You may be seated. You may be seated. If you didn't realize it, if you haven't

lived long enough to understand it yet, but if you live long enough, you will discover that

life has some bipolar moments. And here, you will notice the Bible says that as soon as Jesus

heard the news, what news are they referring to? They're hearing, they're referring to the news that

Jesus has just been told that his favorite cousin, John the Baptist, has died a very heinous death being decapitated.

And this grieved him because he was not only a relative, a cousin of Jesus, but he was a friend and a confidant.

And not only a friend and a confidant, but he was a forerunner.

This is like having somebody that goes ahead of you and helps you to be

able to get a job or to get an education, to be able to prepare the way for you to be able to come

and make your mark in the earth. This is who John the Baptist was for Jesus.

Now that's his cousin, but he's got to say, I am not the way.

But he says, I came to bear witness to the one who is the way.

And he said, the one that's coming after me is far greater than I am.

I'm not even worthy to lace up his shoes.

Now, this is his front man.

This is his height man that has lived and preceded him and given his whole life for Jesus to be able to come and to do what he does.

And all of a sudden, Jesus gets the news that his dearly beloved cousin
