Chapter 12, verse 1 through 3, the new living translation of the scripture, notice these words.

The Lord said to Abram, leave your native country, your relatives, and your father's family,

and go to the land that I will show you, and I will make you into a great nation.

And I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others.

And I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt.

All the families on earth will be blessed through you.

Hallelujah to the land.

And I'm speaking today from the subject good to great, good to great, good to great, good to

great.

You may be seated.

Here is a specific promise that was given to Abram, whom we later know as Abraham.

And I don't want you to just think that you can just

indiscriminately just find a nice passage or promise of God that's given specifically to a person

for a specific assignment in a specific time and then just claim it and say, God, hey, you're going

to make my name great.

And you're going to, you know, all the whole earth is going to be blessed through me.

Listen, no, no, no, this is not to give you delusion of grandeur.

But we want to be able to take a look at God's word and then find the principle that is applicable to all believers,

but you cannot take something that is specifically a word of promise to Abraham.

Now here's how we tie into it.

The moment that we exercise our faith in Jesus Christ, now we are grafted into the family

and we are heirs of Abraham.
