Life lessons learned from running an adult summer camp, this adult summer camp,

Campindi.com, and this was such a doozy and such an impactful event in my life

that I have three life lessons coming for you from this event.

So let me set to scene a little bit.

We had run a scaled down version of this in 2020 in or 2021 in between variants of COVID

weren't able to run the event that we wanted to run.

Come 2023, we were ready to do it again and this was going to be the big year.

And I knew that we had to sell 125 tickets in order for this event to break even.

So about six months beforehand, I started going full time into marketing mode.

We pulled out all the best marketing strategy we could have. We ran events and had other people promoting it and I was doing everything possible that I could to sell 125 tickets because there's nothing in this life that I would rather do

than run this type of event.

And I tried hard and hard and did everything I could possibly think of doing, put all my effort into it.

Even was manually outreaching to people that I think this could be an amazing event for,

and we sold 105 tickets. it just wasn't going to make sense for us as a business

to spend five six months almost full-time

promoting and running an event even though we wanted to do it

that was not even going to break even. And so on the last day, despite having an

incredible time at camp and everyone loving it and talking about how

transformative it was, we told people that, hey, unfortunately, we're not going to be able to do camp again.

It's not because we think it's hard to do, or any of the logistics or because we don't

want to it's simply because of the fact that we weren't able to sell enough

tickets and they said no no we have to do camp again I promise we'll come back
