Life Lesson from a $7 pack of playing cards and not just $7, but $7 in Thailand.

So if you've ever been to Thailand, you know how insanely cheap it is and that's one of the things that's going for it is that you can go

and you can live like a king or queen for $1,500 a month. You can go and get a meal,

a $1 street meal and have some of the best food that you've ever had in your life.

So them charging me $7 for a pack of playing cards is essentially equivalent to someone

charging me 50, 60, 70 bucks in the United States.

And Heather and I were walking to the beach

and we were going to relax and she said,

let's go get a pack of playing cards,

let's have something to do at the beach.

I thought okay yeah that's fine and when I walked in and they wanted to charge me the

equivalent of seven dollars I was aghast but I remembered a lesson from someone who I had followed for a long time named Chris Gillibow and he had a thing called the $10 rule and he said if something is $10 or less and it's going to make your life better in that moment

don't question it just do it and before I learned that role from Chris there were plenty of times

where I had been so frugal

that it had caused a lot of strife. In Heather and I's relationship and just in our travel

overall, I can think of one specific example when we were in

Malaysia and it was pouring rain and there was a cab driver there and he wanted

$10 to drive us about two and a5 miles to our hotel and I thought he was

ripping me off and we didn't do it much to Heather Chagrin and we ended up

walking 2.5 miles home in the pouring rain and it was not a pleasant experience for anyone.

And so in this moment in Thailand when it was $7 I thought I can buy
