A friend texts me this.

Life is a continuous escaping of one box after the next,

and I really sat and paused and looked at that text.

And in that moment, it felt so poignant, right?

And I think it was a way that it was conceptualized.

And I began to think of how true that sentiment really was.

Because see, when we really start to think and sit with that,

and we allow that to sink in and stop sounding like a quote.

And it really is an explanation.

It's not an explanation of success or failure,

but it is an explanation of why so many people feel restless,

And see, honestly, you know, from the moment that we enter the world we are

placed into structures that tell us how to behave and how to measure ourselves and how to be acceptable

and these structures are introduced so early that we rarely recognize that we are contained in boxes

and as i began to think about it i thought rarely recognize that we are contained in boxes.

And as I began to think about it, I thought about us as children.

We adapt quickly because we have to.

We learned what gets approved and what creates tension.

And it begins to start shaping ourselves around what keeps us saved and loved and we learn when to talk and when to stay quiet we learn what emotions are welcome and which ones make people uncomfortable

and then we also learn how to present ourselves in ways that don't necessarily rock the boat
