And I was thinking about this because wars, the ebbs and flows of wars can be obscure when

you're not experiencing directly, particularly if you're not in the

country that is at war. You know, the war in Afghanistan lasted over 20 years. The Syrian civil

war revolution depends on how you characterize or describe it. It lasted 14 years. Obviously,

famously, we know from history, there are literal hundred years wars and it can be very

hard to kind of get a sense of like what is going on i read the new york times coverage you know

because i get the physical paper and they have dispatches which they file and it does seem like

we're approaching some kind of key decision point, partly because the United States government in the person of Donald Trump seems to be essentially trying to push and bully the Ukrainians into settling a peace deal with Russia.

That would basically concede two of Russia's biggest demands, no membership in NATO,

and huge territorial concessions in the eastern part of the country,

which are the site of precisely the military aggression and contestation.
