Sometimes we approach our future.

tend to miss out on God's best for our lives.

Our pursuit of self-denial, sometimes veiled as personal humility,

can morph into self-deprecating attitudes.

For instance, rather than embrace God's goodness,

we shrug our shoulders and say,

Ah, shucks, not me, Lord.
