been in the process of writing my new book. It's my tenth book. It is a memoir.

It's going to be a collection of essays about love and dating and relationships and it has been

probably one of the most emotionally taxing and draining experiences of my writing career.

It's been a lot but it's been worth it and it's it's a new style of writing for me. It's extremely

vulnerable and honest and it's just requiring a lot of emotional stamina if you will. So

thanks for being patient again but I'm back today because I want to talk about something that

has just been on my heart and on my mind and it's just been a conversation I've been having

with girlfriends and with clients and that's the concept of life and love not being linear.

I think a lot of us expect to have experiences in life where something happens to us or we

anticipate something happening and we expect it to go in a certain way, right? We expect

there to be this order of events that things happen. So for example, when you think about being

a kid and you think about growing up, you think I'm going to go to college, get a job, meet somebody,

get married, have kids by a house, retire and then that's life. But if you think about the way

your life has gone for you and the way it's gone for me has been totally different than what I

expected and it's been full of surprises and full of ups and downs and moments where I've just seen

my life going a different direction and had to pivot and shift and be okay with that direction

and not really know what was going to happen next. But then when I look back, I'm so grateful
