Roberts Robinson.com. It was a wild night of sports for the middle of the week with Kansas

playing a crazy triple overtime game against Arkansas and the Liberty Bowl and Missouri

knocking off Kentucky for a second straight win over a ranked opponent,

8975 as the Missouri Tigers College Basketball's surprise team under Dennis Gates.

We will dive into all that on this episode of KKHI.

We start with one of the craziest football games you'll ever see, and that was Kansas against Arkansas. And it was fairly predictable that this was going to be a high-scoring wild game. What we didn't know is that Kansas would sort of treat the beginning of this game like it was too big of a moment for them. And there was some talk by Lance Leipold going into this game that, hey, listen, these guys have never been in bowl games.

They don't know what to expect.

I don't know what to expect from them. I'm just going to ask them to play hard and play clean. And we'll see what happens. And Kansas played hard, but they did not play clean. Three ridiculous turnovers in the first half. Sometimes turnovers happen. Sometimes somebody pops the ball and it goes

loose and you go, dang it, the guy made a play, whatever. Kansas trying to fair catch a kickoff,

muffs it, gives up an easy touchdown to Arkansas to that turnover. And Jalen Daniels, with two of the

worst interception throws you'll ever see in the first half put Kansas in a giant hole down 25 points.

This looked like the Kansas team before Lance Leipold got there. I said to a buddy as we were watching

the game, but you know what? This team's never out. We've seen Kansas get down this year.

They always make it competitive. They always come back. They don't get blown out.

Let's just keep an eye on this football game. And it just got better and better and better for Kansas.

Again, down 25 points of this game, they came back. The key moment from a coaching standpoint that I

didn't like, and there's a lot of second guessing about the last play of the game. In triple overtime, the sort of gadgety trick play with getting the ball to

bean and having your backup quarterback try to throw the pass for the two-point conversion,

I don't really have a problem with that play or that play call because I'm guessing that

Lipold saw that many times in practice. That was one of his favorite two-point plays. He thought it would work. He thought it would be terrific. It did look like Bean could run it in. If we're going to second guess anything, maybe he could have run the ball in instead of throwing it high and out of play. But I don't second guess the play call in any way there.

I second guess a couple of things with Lance Lypold in this game, but again,
