Hello and welcome to episode 9 of Libro where today we'll be talking about Tottenham and is it an impossible club to manage?

How is it? They haven't won anything since 2008.

And to do that, I'm joined by Jack Pittbrook from Athletic, Miguel Vlaimi, Evie, Evianependent,

and John Bruin from The Guardian and other places. So Jack, you are the one of us who covers

Tottenham the most. What's going on? Why does it always go wrong for Spurs?

Well, this season is going much worse than almost any of their recent seasons. You know, they've lost 17 out of 32 league games

so far. That's 53%. Last time I think they lost league games at such a remarkable rate was

1934, 35, when they were relegated from the first division and didn't

return to the first division until 1950. So, yeah, so they aren't, this is an unusually bad

time for them, certainly. I think that, I think it's really been a combination of the, the reliance on Harry Kane, the reliance on

Sun Kyung-Men, who's clearly in decline, the fact that they've come into this season trying

to play an incredibly radical brand of football with a squad which is not really deep enough

to do that in a very, very hectic calendar.

They've obviously had a bit of bad luck as well, but I feel like they probably tried to be

overambitious and it's all just collapsed around them.

It's been the most disaster, and it's ended up being the most disastrous Tottenham League campaign in the living memory of most Spurs fans. I think if you're making a case in defence of Postalcogli, what you'd say is Spurred had a load of injuries in a similar position. You know, had a load of defensive injuries at the same time. That rips the heart out at the middle of the season.

They've come back now.

Convidence is low. Their league position, you know, they can't do anything in the league. So the focus should be on the Europa League. And, you know, that is what they're doing. And they'll stand or fall by what happens against Frankfurt on Thursday night. But do you think that's fair? or do you think that there's something more fundamental by Postal Coghly, Miguel?

I think elements are fair, and they were better against Frankfurt, I have to say,

especially in the second half.

But, look, we don't have enough evidence without caveats.
