Today's guest is Liana Werner Gray and Liana has written three books for Hay House.

could use a little help with anxiety and it's kind of a unique concept to think food could help with anxiety. So how are you doing, Liana?

Hi, Reid. I'm good. Thank you so much for having me on.

And so you said you're down in Florida right now. You live in New York as well. So how are things been going with you?

Yeah, New York was really intense. As you know, I got hit the worse with COVID. And so I left a few weeks ago just to be somewhere a bit healthier and out of all of the congestion, I suppose in New York.

But it's it's really good down here. It's very sunny and vitamin D also helps to lower those stress levels and anxiety levels as well.

Yeah, we do. I was just talking with Chris Warck, who you know, and he was he was saying the importance of vitamin D both for cancer and for the coronavirus. So he was giving everyone details on how important all that was.

So I know really well all about that right now.

That's awesome. So why don't we start off just telling a little bit about how you got into learning about the importance of food to help with cancer and help with anxiety.

Yeah, for sure. So I was once never interested in food and I was in entertainment when I was in my early 20s. And I was very addicted to refined sugars and fast foods.

And that was my diet. So I would wake up and I would eat gummy bears or pancakes and I would eat McDonald's every day. And I would eat KFC and just all any type of junk food you name it and I became very addicted to those foods and my health started to take a turn.

And so I tried to give up eating those foods and that's when I learned how addicted I was and I kept telling myself, I'll start again tomorrow. I'll start again tomorrow. And that tomorrow, you know, never came until after five years of doing that ended up with a 3.7 centimeter tumor in my lymphatic system and my throat.

And so that's when I thought, oh wow, okay, I really have to change my diet now. And so because of my upbringing, my father was a chef and my mom also raised us very healthy.

And I grew up with the Aboriginal people in Outback Australia. They taught me that the healthiest way for us to eat was to go out to our backyard and eat foods that come straight from the earth because those would provide us with the most nutrients, but not only nutrients that would provide us with the spirit with this energy, this life force or it's like eating a part of God.

And so I knew all of that. So I thought, okay, I need to go back to my roots and actually heal this and heal this addiction. And so that's when I started to really research and get interested in foods and in juicing.

And that's when I was able to heal my body with food and nutrition and have been so passionate about it ever since. And now it's going on 11 years since I've been cancer free and tumor free and have healed the addiction.

And I'm just so passionate about sharing the power of foods with other people and seeing other people heal their bodies and health issues with food is just so rewarding.
