Hello everyone and welcome to police off the cuff, real crime stories.

I'm your host, retired NYPD Sergeant Bill Cannon, 27-year veteran of the NYPD. So folks, we have all heard now

that the body of Robert Card, the shooter in the Lewiston, Maine active shooter case, a

horrific tragedy. I'll put the pictures of the victims up on the screen.

He was found last evening.

And initially, they did give us many details other than that, and that they found him a dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

But many more facts and circumstances in regards to this case have come out many of them

or all of them perhaps are disturbing and ultimately the only thing that is important right now

are these 18 people that lost their lives and their families

who are now grieving over this horrific incident and how we as a people can prevent these future events from taking place.

According to the New York Times, again, he was found dead on Friday night, ending a two-day manhunt.

Authority said that he had purchased, legally purchased several guns in recent days.

This was the deadliest shooting in America this year. And the man who did it, Robert Codd, had paranoid beliefs that people were talking about him,

and he may have been hearing voices. He legally purchased guns, as I previously stated,

some as recently as several days before the attack.

And he may have previously visited the two businesses,

a bar and a bowling alley that he attacked on Wednesday evening.

The attack sparked a two-day manhunt that ended on Friday night when police found

Robert Carr dead in a trailer at a recycling plant in Lisbon, where he had once worked.

Officials said he appeared to have shot himself, a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The revelation brought a sense of relief through Lewiston

and neighboring towns where residents had been sheltering in place
