Summary

Leviticus 6-7 might appear repetitive to the untrained ear but it's not! While Moses does repeat the offering details we have heard in previous chapters, there is one nuance here--the laws were instructions to the priests rather than to the people. While the people needed to know how and what to offer, the priests needed instructions on how to make those offerings too. It all worked together. Welcome to Season three! It's always good.

But so what you're saying is it's not totally foreign like it sounds to us a really weird thing for him to be asking them to make these sacrifices.

1:15.5

It was a fairly normal practice for them.

1:18.6

Very normal practice for the world back then.

1:20.9

Yeah, they wouldn't have thought it was weird.

1:22.8

But anyway, last episode we learned that these sacrifices provided a temporary solution to

1:29.4

the separation of God and man and it was an atoning for the purification of sin. Of course,

1:34.6

the permanent solution would come years later as the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ

on the cross for us as we know it today. Then we read the last two of the five types of offerings,

both are variations of the burn offering, which are for atonement. It is the purification offering

and the reparation offering. The purification was kind of complicated because it introduces
