Okay, we'll go ahead and get started. When we get started here,

in just a moment, we're going to be picking up at the beginning of Leviticus chapter 16.

This is going to be another one where we have quick review, because as we mentioned last time,

there's kind of a disconnect between chapter 15 and chapter 16 in terms of content,

which those of you who weren't here last time will be happy about because last time we talked all about bodily emissions. So that was an interesting time. But tonight in Libyika 16, we're getting

into the Day of Atonement. So there's not a real natural connection there.

We talked about how the structure of the book of Leviticus, there are a few sort of narrative sections that describe things happening in the journey of Israel.

Most of those narrative sections, like the one we've already read,

about the dedication of the tabernacle,

the consecration of Aaron and his sons as priests.

Most of these narrative passages have been connected to sort of material

at the end of the book of Exodus,

where God gave instructions at the end of the book of Exodus, where God gave instructions at the end of the book of Exodus, and now they're being carried out at the

beginning of Leviticus. And then in between those sort of little narrative portions, there's

sort of material inserted that is of special concern to the priests. That's why it's called

Leviticus. the Levites,

are the priestly tribe, the priestly group.

This is their book.
