Verse 31, thus they shall make the children of Israel ungodly because of their uncleanness.

Thus, you shall make the children of Israel ungodly because of their uncleanness,

lest they die in their uncleanness when they defile my tabernacle among them.

Okay, so what they bizarrely decide to translate is ungodly. What they mean is you're going to

not let them approach God while they're unclean. Because if they come to the tabernacle, they

come to a place where God is while they're unclean, they will contaminate the holy space.

Right. And this isn't to be a permanent state, right? You go and do what you need to do to become

clean again, and then you return and come to God. Also notice, this uncleanness is unavoidable.

There's not something you can avoid. Right? We're going to get a little later on. You're going to find out

going to the bathroom makes you unclean. Okay, like, yeah, you have to wash. You have to clean

yourself after you go to the bathroom, right? And you don't go to the bathroom, not clean yourself

and go to a holy place. Like, go figure. But the idea is, we go out in the world and this is telling us something about the world we live in them outside of paradise.

You can't just walk between the raindrops and the world and never become unclean, right?

And never have any contact with anything unholy, right?

There's the sacred and there's the profane and the profane is not evil. It's just common. Right? It's just the common use. And you're going to have to go back into that world, right? That's just the reality. That's the reality of our lives now. We come to liturgy. even if you came to liturgy every day. Even if you lived in a monastery,

I went to a liturgy. Even if you came to liturgy every day, even if you lived in a monastery and went to a liturgy every day. After liturgy, you'd go out and dig in the garden

and have to deal with bugs and worms, and you'd have to go to the bathroom at some point during the day.

And there would be things you have to do in the world.

And so God is teaching us something about, right? You're not going to be able to avoid getting
