Summary

Interview with Trey Nelson (Director of Let the Devil In) This week on The Devil Within host Branden Morgan sits down with filmmaker Trey Nelson, director of the new MGM+ documentary series Let the Devil In. The series—based on Season One of The Devil Within—brings the haunting story of Jefferson Township to the screen with gripping visuals, never-before-seen interviews, and an intensity that lingers long after the credits roll. Trey shares what drew him to this dark chapter in American true crime, how he approached the balance between fact and myth, and the creative choices behind capturing fear, paranoia, and belief on screen. Together, we talk about trust, responsibility, and the challenges of translating a podcast into a cinematic documentary. Plus, Trey opens up about his own background, influences, and what he hopes Let the Devil In will mean for viewers.
