I want to try a little experiment during today's 10-minute walk.

This goes back to something my grandfather said to me years ago.

I went in solemn. It was in the middle of summer, probably this time of year, and he was working outside, and if I remember correctly, we were in the midst of a heat wave in Maryland.

So it was extra hot and extra humid.

And my grandfather lived in a house that had no air conditioning.

I don't even think he put in window air conditioners.

It was just hot, but he learned how to cool it down

by pulling the window shades down and using fans, so he made it very comfortable in the house.

But he was working in the yard on this particular day, and it was the middle of the afternoon,

and I stopped by, and I think I was just making small talk about the weather and this heat wave we were in and my grandfather looked at me and said, I just don't even think about it.

I don't watch the weather forecast. I just don't even think about it. And if I don't think about it, I don't feel hot.

It's like, oh, okay. Well, it's interesting. So I want to give this a whirl.

Earlier this year, I took a walk in really cold weather. Generally it doesn't get super cold here

in Myrtle Beach, but this was a really cold day.

If I recall correctly, it was 17 degrees and it was windy and the wind chill was at zero and

I took a walk. That's my commitment. Walk every day. And I recorded an episode of walking his fitness, and you could tell, I'm cold. It's cold.
