So, my name is Rana.

I am first- Iranian here in the U.S. and my family currently lives in

Tehran. How are your family doing? Obviously, living in Tehran is, must be incredibly scary right now.

Have you managed to speak to them at all? Yeah. Thankfully, I have the

first three days we hadn't been able to get through. Then we were able to hear from one of our

cousins. A call came through to let us know that they were okay, although it was brief.

And yesterday morning, we were able to do a video call and kind of just see how everyone's

doing, get their updates. And of course, in like true Persian fashion, they're like, don't worry

about us. We're going to be okay. Which is so

just heartbreaking and admirable and all the things in one. But, you know, one of my cousins,

she was quite young during the Iran-Iraq war.

So the bombings, the first few days, everyone kind of wasn't sleeping and just having a really hard time.

But after a few days, they're just doing their best to stay busy and get supplies when they can.

The cost of groceries and water has gone up exponentially.

And the cost to connect to the internet is insanely high.

So, you know, they call when they can.

On our end, we're following as many accounts as we know and trust that give us real-time

updates about where is being bombed because we know the streets that our family members live
