So today, we're going to talk about Trump's tariffs and what you need to remember.

After yesterday, a number of things seem incredibly likely.

They honestly seem like events that are now inevitable.

When they play out, there are a few things every American needs to remember. First, the president

constitutionally has no power to apply tariffs alone. Article 1, Section 8, grants that power to

Congress. Quote, The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes, duties, imposts, and excises,

to pay the debts and provide for the common defense and general welfare of the United States.

But all duties, imposts, and excises shall be uniformed throughout the United States.

If that doesn't do it for you, it also grants Congress the power, quote,

to regulate commerce with foreign nations. So, is what Trump's doing unconstitutional? No, it isn't

constitutionally authorized, but over the years, Congress delegated a lot of power to the presidency.

That means that Congress can revoke that power anytime it chooses.

At this point, it seems incredibly unlikely that Trump suddenly comes to his senses

and ends the brewing trade wars, plural.

There's going to be more than one.

It's a trade world war. Since Trump is unlikely to back down,

this will move forward. And when the U.S. economy suffers, these aren't just Trump's tariffs.

They're the tariffs of every Republican in Congress. The GOP and Congress could end this

overnight. As the economy drags, the Republican Party

will likely try to distance themselves from the policies. Republicans in Congress are literally

the only people who can stop it. Many of them know what's going to happen to the U.S. economy.
