vanity, insanity, and the report on how Trump ruined America's birthday. House Natural Resources

Committee, ranking member Jared Huffman of California, released a 55-page report on Trump's

failed attempt to Trumpify the nation's 250th birthday. Well, I guess it was successfully Trumpified.

I mean, it's as successful as his other policies. The release from Huffman that got a lot of attention said

following months of investigative work by committee Democrats, exposing how Donald Trump

hijacked what was supposed to be a unifying non-political celebration of our country's 250th birthday and made it all about him,

his vanity projects, his political and religious agenda, his business ventures, and his cronies

who gorged on public funds under cover of a shadow corporation, shielded from public scrutiny.

I mean, that's pretty dramatic. Does the report actually outline what's claimed? I'll put the

link down below. But the key findings from the report are quite the list.

Finding one.

The president sought to place himself at the center of the nation's 250th anniversary.

Okay.

So inappropriate and insulting to anyone who actually cares about this country or its history, but also not exactly a bombshell

finding. Is there anything Trump hasn't tried to put himself at the center of? I mean, aside from

the Epstein files. Finding two. The president's senior campaign operatives, Meredith O'Rourke, Chris Las Vita, Justin Capril, and Brad Parskal

played key roles in sidelining America 250 and engineering Freedom 250. Okay, also not surprising, and not even inherently wrong. But under this finding comes

this little bit, quote, central to Freedom 250 solicitation of donations, including the tiered sponsorship

packages that placed a price on access to the president and another

that solicited foreign donations. Okay, yeah, so that's going to get the media's attention.
