Well, howdy there, internet people, it spell again.

So today, we're going to talk about Ukraine, Romania, Russia, and a half a million.

The ongoing conflict in Europe was thrust back into the headlines, when Russia launched a massive barrage against Ukraine's power grid.

That part isn't new. Russia has been targeting civilian infrastructure for quite some time.

But this time, one of the drones out of a barrage of more than 230 drones and one Iskander ballistic missile launched by Russia

hit a civilian apartment building. Also not new, Russia has repeatedly struck civilian homes in Ukraine. But that's where things

start to differ. The drone apparently malfunctioned and hit an apartment building in Romania.

Romania is a NATO ally, which of course has led to the question of whether or not they will

invoke Article 5. Probably

not. For one, that would be an extreme reaction to the situation. The other reason is that

because of Trump's softness, there's probably a widespread reluctance to really consider invoking

Article 5 right now in Europe. They can go it

alone against Russia and be fine. But if they invoke Article 5 and the U.S. bails, it would cement the

end of the U.S. European arrangement. Because if Article 5 is invoked and Trump is too weak to meet U.S.

obligations, there is no coming back from that. Romania's Foreign Affairs Minister said,

quote, Romania will take the necessary diplomatic response measures regarding this serious violation of international law and of its airspace.

NATO spokesperson Alison Hart said,

quote,

We condemn Russia's recklessness, and NATO will continue to strengthen our defenses against all threats, including

drones. Here in the U.S., Representative Joe Wilson of South Carolina posted to social media,

quote, Russia, belligerently and unprovoked, has attacked Romania.
