Well, howdy there, internet people, it's bell again.

So today, we're going to talk about Trump versus House and Senate Oversight, boat edition.

Both the House and Senate Armed Services Committees have said they have started oversight proceedings of Trump's operations down south.

Better late than never, I guess.

The proceedings started because of the reporting,

alleging that the U.S. military conducted a second strike on a boat that had already been hit,

was out of action, and had survivors on it. The reporting also

states that this action was undertaken to comply with an order from the Secretary of Defense.

Sector F. Hegseth has denied the allegations. If you're catching up after the weekend, there will be a

video down below, going over the

practical application of the laws governing actions like this. It's probably going to be

important to understand in the future. A Pentagon spokesperson has said, quote, this entire

narrative is completely false.

It doesn't seem like Congress is accepting that statement at face value.

The top Republican and Democrat on the Senate Armed Services Committee released a joint statement,

saying the committee has already reached out to DOD and will be conducting vigorous oversight.

Over in the House, which has been far more permissive of the Trump administration's antics in general,

representatives Mike Rogers of Alabama and Adam Smith of Washington also released a bipartisan statement promising rigorous oversight.

And adding, quote, we take seriously the reports of follow-on strikes on boats alleged to be

ferrying narcotics in the Southcom region and are taking bipartisan action to gather a full accounting

of the operation in question. We've started noticing a trend of those defending the strikes

saying that every person hit by one of the strikes is a member of a designated organization.
