Well, howdy there, Internet people, it's Bell again. So today, we're going to talk about Trump

versus Greenland, dog sled edition. Under normal circumstances, in a normal foreign policy setting,

having U.S. officials show up in an area under the protection of a NATO ally to watch a dog sled race and

quote celebrate Greenlandic culture and unity would be a good thing. It would be something that could

lead to closer ties. But that's under normal circumstances and in a normal foreign policy setting.

We're through the looking glass on that one.

This week, the Second Lady of the United States will make one trip,

and then National Security Advisor Mike Waltz and U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright

are expected to travel to Greenland in a second trip.

The Prime Minister of Greenland doesn't exactly see the

trips as friendly visits, far from seeing it as a celebration of culture and unity, as the White

House described it. He said it was, quote, highly aggressive. He went on to say, quote,

we are now at a level where it can in no way be characterized

as a harmless visit from a politician's wife. What is the national security advisor doing in

Greenland? The only purpose is to demonstrate power over us. Then added, quote, he is Trump's confidential and closest advisor,

and his presence in Greenland alone will certainly make the Americans believe in Trump's mission,

and the pressure will increase after the visit. Because of Trump's rhetoric about annexing the

territory, there's a lot of apprehension and

distrust. Trump said the territory would become part of the U.S., quote, one way or the other.

It's probably worth mentioning that until, you know, the whole annexation comments thing,

the relationship between the U.S. and Greenland has historically been close.

The U.S. tried to buy Greenland after World War II, but Denmark declined to sell it.
