Well, howdy there, Internet people, it's Bell again. So today, we're going to talk about

more House GOP groups saying they're going to block the one big beautiful bill. As the Republican

leadership continues to unveil and push components of their budget reconciliation package,

they're getting pushback. Not just

from Democrats, not just financial folks warning them about the possible backlash from the bond

market if they start running up the debt, but from within their own party. Obviously, the fiscal

hawks are upset, and a number of them are talking about withholding their

vote.

I think I mentioned Chip Roy, a representative from Texas, saying, quote, I sure hope House

and Senate leadership are coming up with a backup plan.

Some might see that as him saying they need a rewrite and more cuts. It could also

be taken to mean that he thinks it will fail. The fiscal hawks are very unhappy with the current

reconciliation package, and they have enough votes to tank the package if they so choose. If Chip

Roy's statement was too subtle, you also have representative Nick Lalota of New York,

not part of the fiscal hawks.

In fact, actually wants the exact opposite.

He wants larger tax cuts.

Do you remember us talking about the salt tax deduction and me saying you'll see it

again? Well, this is it. Lolota said, quote, the bill is dead effectively on the floor.

His group wants a larger deduction for state and local taxes, and the current package,

quote, doesn't even come close to earning our vote.

They have enough votes to tank the package if they so choose.
