Well, howdy there, Internet people it spell again.

So today, we're going to talk about Trump moving us closer to a shutdown.

The first thing to note is that while this game is being played, they don't have long to figure out how to avoid a shutdown.

Trump said he told Republicans to not

deal with Democrats, saying, quote, don't even bother dealing with them. He also said, quote,

they want to give away money to this and then that, destroy the country. If you gave them

every dream, they would not vote for it.

So, what do Democrats want? Health care funding for Americans. Their two asks appear to be

undoing Trump's damaging cuts to Medicaid and the extension of subsidies for Affordable Care Act plans. In other words,

the millions of Americans that will lose their health care because of Trump's one big, beautiful

bill? Do you remember those people? They want to undo that. Even some Republicans are admitting

they really messed up on this. and the House Ways and Means

committee was trying to figure out how to undo the damage they caused as recently as Wednesday.

But Trump said, don't even bother dealing with them.

I guess the billionaires got their tax breaks funded by Americans paying the pass-through costs

on tariffs. So, forget about the working class. Who cares if the commoners can't afford health

care? He's so committed to abandoning health care that when he was asked about how he would

get Democratic votes for that, he said,

quote, we have to get Republican votes, that's all.

Fact check. Republicans do not have the votes in the Senate to pass it without Democratic help.

When he was then asked about the 60 vote threshold in the Senate, he said, quote, no, we're

going to do a, probably a continuing resolution, or we're going to do something.
