So today, we're going to talk about Trump's voting plans.

Okay, so Trump tweeted, quote,

Voter ID must be part of every single vote.

No exceptions.

I will be doing an executive order to that end. Also, no mail-in voting, except for those that are very ill and the faraway military.

Use paper ballots only. President D.J.T.

I feel like I should start this off by saying Trump has no power over elections.

Per the U.S. Constitution, quote,

The Times places a manner of holding elections for senators and representatives

shall be prescribed in each state by the legislature thereof.

But the Congress may at any time by law make or alter such regulations,

except as to the places of choosing senators. Elections are controlled by the states, generally,

and in some special cases Congress, not executive order. Now, let's break apart his old man yelling at the Cloud's post.

Let's start with the stuff that was in all caps. That has to be the most important stuff, right?

Okay, use paper ballots only. This is a big Republican talking point. They've pushed this for a while. They haven't really

gotten much opposition from Democrats because, well, honestly, nobody really cares. Want to use

paper ballots? Fine. Use paper ballots. And, well, they do. What percent of all ballots do you think are not paper? 10, 20 ballots? And well, they do. What percent of all ballots do you think are not paper?

10, 20, 30? Somewhere between 3 and 5 percent. That's right. The giant talking point is about a

tiny, tiny fraction of votes. More importantly, do you know which states don't have a paper trail and use a direct recording

electronic machine?
