Well, howdy there, Internet people. It's Bell again. So today, we're going to talk about Trump,

troops at polls, and Alyssa Slotkin. Senator Alyssa Slotkin of Michigan, who is a member of the

Senate Armed Services Committee and Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs

Committee, is introducing a bill that would prohibit troops or other armed agents at polls.

The bill has a lengthy list of co-sponsors. All are members of the Democratic Party. Senator Slotkin said, quote,

President Trump has been saying the quiet part out loud.

He wants to undermine our elections any way he can,

and he refuses to rule out sending uniformed military to the polls,

or to collect ballots and voting machines. Our legislation

prevents President Trump from weaponizing our military and armed federal officers to interfere in our

elections. From 2016 until just last week, President Trump has worked to so doubt in our election results.

And I am glad to be joined by senators from across the country, especially states like Arizona,

Georgia, Minnesota, and Wisconsin, which, along with Michigan, the president has targeted, all states that may very

well decide who controls the House and Senate.

The bill would require prior approval from Congress before armed men could be sent to

the polls by Trump.

Senator Gallego, who is also on board with the bill, said, quote,

As a Marine, I took an oath to the Constitution, not a president, as did all troops.

Using our service members to intimidate Americans at the polls is disgusting, illegal,

and exactly the kind of abuse this bill stops cold. That brings up the question. Why isn't this already illegal? It is. It has been for more

than 160 years. People who actually cared about the country made sure it was illegal. Title 18,

United States Code, Section 592 says, quote, whoever, being an officer of the Army or Navy,
