confidence in our shared cultural institutions.

That's a letter from the administration.

So, it's not about history.

It's not actually about education.

It's about celebrating American exceptionalism and shaping American

museums to meet Trump's understanding of history. I have another quote for you. The Continental

Army suffered a bitter winter of Valley Forge, found glory across the waters of the Delaware,

and seized victory from Cornwallis

of Yorktown. Our army manned the air. It rammed the ramparts. It took over the airports.

It did everything it had to do. And at Fort McHenry, under the rocket's red glare, it had nothing but victory. And when

dawn came, their star-spangled banner waved defiant. That's Trump talking about American

actions during the Revolutionary War, when we took over the airports, during the Revolutionary War.

That's the guy whose vision will be guiding our museums. I think most people remember that.

But the thing is, the President of the United States indicating he seemed to believe airports

were strategic targets during the Revolutionary War,

a war that occurred before air travel, was so shocking that people missed the other part.
