Well, howdy there, Internet people, it's Bell again.

0:04.8

So today, we're going to talk about Trump denying FEMA assistance to North Carolina.

0:11.9

North Carolina is getting a taste of what it means for the federal government to shift emergency response to the states, per Trump's plan.

0:20.9

Here's a statement from the governor of North Carolina.

0:24.3

Quote, the first step to help Western North Carolina recover is to clean up all the debris.

0:31.2

So far, we have removed more than 12 million cubic yards of debris from roads and waterways.

0:39.4

But given the immense scale of the wreckage, we have only scratched the surface. FEMA's denial of our appeal will cost North

2:04.2

disaster relief, it's not being spent on schools, fire departments, and so on. Let's be real,

2:11.6

states aren't going to close schools. And I think we all know, the politicians aren't going to

2:17.1

stop paying themselves so you can get disaster assistance.

2:21.2

So what does that mean? It means that you're probably going to be on your own after the next disaster.
