Well, howdy there, Internet people, it's Bell again. So today, we're going to talk about Trump,

Greenland, and mineral deals. Trump started talking about Greenland and the rhetoric caused issue

after issue, international incident after international incident, and a lot of bad feelings between allies.

Trump's interest in Greenland has a lot of parts, but probably second from the top is minerals,

only behind the strategic military importance of Greenland as the climate changes.

Well, Greenland signed a mineral deal to use Trump's language. It wasn't with the

U.S. A Danish and French mining group obtained a 30-year permit to extract anorthosite. What's that, right?

It's a white rock that has a whole lot of aluminum in it. The mining company plans to initially use the substance to feed the fiberglass industry.

It can make fiberglass a wee bit more sustainable.

But the long-term goal appears to be to use it as a replacement for bauxite in the production of aluminum.

But one of the interesting things to come out of this is a comment from Greenland's

mineral resources minister.

Right now all the fuss has not resulted in increased appetite for investment directly in Greenland.

We have welcomed a number of investors, but we have not yet seen any concrete example of American funds being injected into Greenland's business community.

She then talked about how talks with American business delegations

have been going, and then she added, quote, there is no doubt that the dialogue with both the

EU and Denmark is going smoother. This is not only the result of the noise made by the U.S.

administration, but also the result of the noise made by the U.S. administration, but also the result

of several years of intensified cooperation. Looks like the EU's soft power obtained hard

minerals and concrete deals. Just saying. But there's probably something else at play. I doubt American businesses really
