Well, howdy there, Internet people, it's Bell again. So today, we're going to talk about Trump's

0:08.0

tax cuts hurting those making less than $50,000 per year. We're going to go over the effects on

0:15.7

people's effective incomes from the one big beautiful bill, as it's currently written. It's worth noting that some of

0:23.0

this is likely to change now that the Senate has started their process. But there's a decent

0:28.5

chance that these numbers might actually get worse. But that's speculation. What isn't speculation

0:35.5

are the projections ran by Penn Wharton on taxes and spending cuts as written.

0:41.8

So, we'll go over them to answer a question that came in.

0:46.6

Quote, Bell, you've said Trump's one big beautiful bill and the tax cuts would primarily benefit the wealthy.

0:56.1

I've been talking about this with my boyfriend and he said that tax cuts always benefit the rich more because they're based

1:02.0

on percentages. So the wealthy benefit more because of that. Okay, so a lot of people think this,

1:10.0

but there's more to it. The Penn Morton numbers break it down.

1:13.6

What we'll do is start with the rich, go over the change in the after-tax and transfer income by dollar amount and percentage. To keep this short, we'll start with the top income bracket and then drop down to the income

1:29.5

bracket that matches how much they saved. Top bracket, those making $4,325,000 or more. That's the top

1:40.3

0.1%. Well, they gain a little more than $389,000, which equates to about a 3%. So let's look at those

1:51.1

making $389,000 per year. They gain $19,965. That's about a 3.5% gain. So, they saved about 19 grand. What about those making $19,000?

2:09.6

That bracket runs from $17,000 to $51,000. Well, they lose $705, which is a negative 1.5%. What about those making below 17,000?

2:25.1

We're talking about those making just above the poverty line. Well, those lucky people lose $1,035. That's negative 10.8%. The package primarily benefits the wealthy.

2:40.4

Just in case you were wondering, those making more than $51,000 and below $93,000, they gain a whopping $845,000, about 1.1%. So why is this happening? Because the spending

2:56.7

cuts to SNAP and Medicaid hit lower brackets hard. I guess taking away food from a bunch of people

3:04.3

making less than $17,000 allows the government to increase the incomes

3:09.8

of a few people making more than $4 million. Because we all know that's who really needs the help,

3:16.5

right? I'll put the link to the numbers down below so you can see it for yourself. As you're
