Well, howdy there, Internet people, it's Bell again.

So today, we're going to talk about Trump raising the retirement age for Social Security.

So the Social Security Administration Commissioner said that raising the retirement age for Social

Security was on the table.

And then he took it back.

This has understandably led to a lot of confusion over what's happening and prompted some questions.

Here's my favorite.

Miss Bell, is Trump raising the Social Security age or not? Every outlet says something different.

Why can't anybody give a straight answer? What am I supposed to do? Can Trump really just do this?

Depending on the time of the day the article was written or video was made, it could have

been right and then wrong 20 minutes later. The administration is erratic with this.

So, the commissioner plainly put it on the table. People were understandably upset. Then they walked it back.

So, is it on the table? Officially from the Trump administration? No. At least not at this

exact moment. Do I think it's on the table? Absolutely. Republicans want to privatize Social Security. They've wanted to do it for decades.

A long time plan has been to find some way to get that money into the stock market, which is a

horrible idea because it absolutely defeats the whole reason Social Security was created. Total mismanagement has led to a

situation where projections indicate that Social Security will start running out of money by 2034,

just a few years away. Republicans aren't going to shore up the accounts.

So the only other real way is to limit benefits or limit those who can get them.

The easiest way to do that is to raise the age.

So if they're telling you it isn't on the table, well, I doubt it.

So what can you do? And can Trump really do this? Well, not on his own. There's a thing called the Social Security trustees. They include people like Bessent and RFK Jr. They get to make recommendations
