Well, howdy there, internet people, it's bell again. So today, we're going to talk about

Trump not knowing about the Medicaid cuts. Every once in a while, a bizarre bit of reporting

comes out that would be front page in any other presidency. But in the Trump era, it barely

makes the news. Reporting is suggesting

that Trump appeared to have not known that Medicaid cuts were in his budget bill. According

to reports, he was in a meeting with GOP holdouts and told them that if they want to win elections,

they can't touch Medicare, Medicaid, and

Social Security. Obviously, with the massive Medicaid cuts contained in Trump's bill,

one of the attendees responded by saying, quote, but we're touching Medicaid in this bill.

It sounds unbelievable that a president wouldn't know what's in his signature

legislation, but most presidents don't exist in a social media and conservative media environment

where his supporters defend anything that he does. It might be that Trump only saw the coverage

saying they were only going after fraud,

waste, and abuse in Medicaid, and believed it. If you look back at the confused expressions,

he often has when he denies Medicaid is being cut. It kind of tracks. It doesn't matter. It's his bill and he pushed it. If there's

anything that screams, Trump is a billionaire celebrity who is fundamentally disconnected from

the interests and problems of most Americans, it's this reporting. It should concern most Americans that Trump may not actually know what's in the bill.

It should concern Republicans in the House even more.

Back in 2017, Trump celebrated a bill that passed the House.

He said it was incredibly well crafted and said, quote,

This is a great plan. I actually think it will get even better. This is a repeal and replace of

Obamacare. Make no mistake about it. After he celebrated it, he found out a little bit more about it and pushed the house under the bus.
