Well, howdy there, Internet people, it's Bell again.

So today, we're going to talk about Trump nixing a special prosecutor.

One of the many easy outs for Trump in his ever-growing issue would have been simply using a tool that would have created the appearance of forward motion without necessarily

creating any. In dealing with the massive backlash from his decision to withhold the files he

promised to release, one of the things he could have done is simply appoint a special prosecutor.

As most of the country is painfully aware, the process involving a special prosecutor. As most of the country is painfully aware, the process involving

a special prosecutor is a slow-moving one. It's completely within the realm of possibility

that if Trump appointed a special prosecutor now, the process would extend beyond his term.

It seemed like the easiest possible move.

He could have even framed the process to appeal to the conspiracy crowd

that would have easily seen it as a sign that all of their beliefs were coming true.

Inexplicably, he has apparently decided against the move.

The White House press secretary said, quote,

The president would not recommend a special prosecutor in the Epstein case.

That's how he feels.

When asked if Trump had discussed the prospect of a special prosecutor with the U.S. Attorney General,

the press secretary said they weren't sure. Under normal circumstances in a normal administration,

that would be the normal answer. U.S. political tradition creates kind of an invisible wall

between DOJ and the White House.

The power to create a special prosecutor falls under the Attorney General.

However, this isn't a normal administration or a normal timeline, and the president has repeatedly

said he was ordering investigations into people and micromanaging
