So today, we're going to talk about the GOP trying to dodge an Epstein vote.

As the pressure continues to mount, congressional Republicans have come up with a plan.

Leave town.

That's right. They want to get out of D.C. before things get even worse for them.

Republican Representative Thomas Massey of Kentucky and Democratic representative Roe Kana of California

are putting the entire house on edge. The bipartisan pair may have ended up altering the whole congressional schedule

after they started the process of using a discharge petition on Tuesday, which could force

an up or down vote on the floor as early as next week. But even before the vote, Republicans

would be under pressure to sign on to the measure.

The whole GOP is in a very awkward position because of Trump's rhetoric and then reversal.

Even with Trump's call to release pertinent information, the base seems to think that pertinent

probably means heavily redacted.

The Democratic Party has been forcing committee votes on whether or not to release

Epstein-related materials to the public.

Republicans on those committees have been blocking the release of information, and they've

been under a lot of pressure from their constituents

and the MAGA movement as a whole. Trump calling the base weak and foolish and stupid hasn't helped.

His statements about releases have always included qualifying language that the base is mostly reading as,

we'll tell you what we think you should know. But as damaging as the votes have been,

they're limited to the Republicans on the committee. A floor vote would put every single
